Hi hello! I played mushroom oasis (coincidentally I've discovered it during the day of your birthday :D) and this game and Mychael himself have been my fixation for quite a lot, I love them both sm (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*.✧

I can't praise your artwork and work in general on this game well enough for the amazing ambiance and how much it just oozes delight and lures you into comfort with each scene (well except the hypnosis ones ofc lol, but the rest of the game is so comforting it makes me forget that and I'm pretty sure that is the point 😭)

I was curious particularly about the flower crown scene.

Is mushroom boi aware enough of flower meanings that he chose the 'forget me not's as a message to send to the player or was he clueless about what it meant?

Ngl I almost imagine him as a "flower boy" who'd get interested in that :3

Ahhh thank you for the sweet message! I don't think he'd be the type to understand flower language, he just wanted to share some pretty flowers with you and they happened to be forget-me-nots!

i feel like people don't play enough with the fact that karkat isn't just a regular hopeless romantic he's a troll hopeless romantic and he's watching alternian romcoms on murderhell planet

i've seen a lot of people make him have those sorts of really over the top lovey dovey gooey old fashioned rose petals and candles and getting married after three days style romantic views and wants like you'd expect from a character really into all those things

and that can be funny but whatever the fuck is actually going on here is way funnier to me

george rexstrew deserves awards for many things but i have to say. edwin’s bloodcurdling scream as niko gets killed deserves a whole award unto itself. like. that scream did not feel at all like a tv show scream. to a somewhat jarring degree. and i can’t express how much I respect that

The thing about Arcane S2 is that it's not even a bad show. It would have been a serviceable heroes save the world show based on a video game IP. Its cardinal sin was that it was supposed to be following Arcane S1

I finally got a chance to sit down and play Astronought and it was such a delight! Atom was very cute and silly but also just the right amount of sinister to give the game a fun flair of horror. Even though there is only one ending I still found myself going back to pick all the dialogue options so I could see everything the game had to offer and I’m very glad I did. I wasn’t expecting the reaction when you stay with the AI instead of going for a walk but it was soooooo cool!

I kind of have to gush about the back and forth when the player is in the escape pod and Atom is on the other side of the glass. The tension is DELICIOUS. The fear, the hope, the desperation. And then, finally, the realization that there was never even a chance to escape. Meanwhile, while the player character is grappling with having to accept that they have absolutely no power or control in the situation, Atom is effectively drawing hearts with your names in them on the glass.❤️❤️❤️

I can tell you put just as much thought and love into this project while you were working on it as you do with all your work. And, this might be a long shot, but if you ever felt like going back to add more endings I know myself and many like-minded individuals would be delighted to see it.

AaaAAAA thank you for the kind words ;;v;;!! I really wanted to give some variety so you can get more reactions out of Atom, despite the game being short and having only one ending. And waa knowing that scene delivered the tension I wanted means a lot!!

For now, I can't promise different endings or expansions to Astronought; I'm quite happy with it having an inevitable ending where you're stuck with it no matter what. Atom would never allow you to get a bad ending, and you can't exactly fight a whole ship of worms without taking yourself out too.

Maybe someday if inspiration strikes!
